Lighting for Wellness: Soft Illumination at Total Fusion Chermside
Lighting at Total Fusion Chermside is designed to support a calm, immersive wellness experience—where atmosphere, comfort, and clarity are carefully balanced. Rather than drawing attention to itself, the lighting works quietly with the architecture, enhancing materiality and guiding movement through the space.
Across hydrotherapy and recovery zones, a layered approach creates a consistent, low-glare environment. Soft, indirect illumination is used to reduce visual noise, allowing users to transition between spaces with ease.

Materiality and Light Working Together
The palette—textured stone, soft render, and warm neutral tones—is reinforced through controlled, ambient lighting.
Mimicry wall fixtures are integrated into the curved façade, providing a gentle 360° radial glow that softly washes vertical surfaces. This creates rhythm along the architecture while maintaining visual comfort and avoiding harsh shadowing.
At a lower level, linear strip lighting is concealed within steps and seating edges, introducing a subtle horizontal layer of light. This not only improves wayfinding but adds depth and definition to the forms, particularly as the space transitions into evening.
Together, these elements create:
-
Soft, uniform illumination that enhances surface texture
-
Low-glare conditions suited to relaxation and recovery
-
Layered depth, balancing vertical and horizontal light
